" For 20 hilarious minutes, Ledwell just had every single patron in that theatre wrapped around his finger, driving home a perfectly priceless stand-up set ... "
-- Todd MacLean The Guardian
Patrick Ledwell was born, raised, and now lives on Prince Edward Island.
In April 2007, he was invited to perform at the Halifax Comedy Festival, one of Canada's premier comedy events. He has also appeared on CBC Radio’s comedy showcase “Hilarious and Homegrown” and on the national CBC Radio program "Madly Off in All Directions”. Ledwell is a headline performer in the “Island Standup Showcase”, a summer comedy event in Charlottetown, PEI. He has also written for the CBC Radio series "Lost and Found."
Ledwell’s comedy shares his experiences growing up in a big family on Prince Edward Island, where he learned early to dodge wayward lawn darts and to steal his favorite from the Kellogg’s Variety Pack. He successfully delayed entering the workplace with degrees in literature and technology. After six years of teaching college full-time, he built up enough bad memories of Casual Days, Tim Horton’s dependency, and motivational speakers to give him more than enough material for a stand-up career.
Now living in Charlottetown with his wife, he uses comedy to express the fixations and frustrations of a man in his thirties. His unique descriptions and perspectives capture the hilarity in trying circumstances-- trying to find reasons not to golf, trying to find uses for wedding gifts, and trying to find anything at all in the Home Depot.
