Patrick Ledwell to perform at Halifax Comedy Festival in April ...
Patrick Ledwell has been invited to perform at the 2007 Halifax Comedy Festival. Ledwell, who is from Charlottetown, will appear at the Festival’s “Comedy for Lunch” and “Rising Stars” shows on April 26.
“This is a great opportunity,” said Patrick, “It will be my first time appearing at the Festival. I’m a big fan of Mark Critch and writer Irwin Barker from 22 Minutes, and it’s a thrill to be in the same event. The festival has also agreed to give me bridge fare—just the Halifax bridges, but still, those can really add up across a couple days.”
There is more good news for Patrick. The Island comedian has also been invited to perform at CBC Radio’s “Hilarious and Homegrown” comedy showcase of Maritime talent with host John Wing on April 23, in Halifax.
Patrick first gained national exposure with an appearance on the CBC Radio program “Madly Off In All Directions.” He also appeared on CBC Radio’s “Lost and Found.” In addition to regular appearances on the Island, Ledwell organizes and performs in the annual “Comedy Care Unit,” a popular fund-raising event to support cancer treatment.
Islanders will get a chance to see Ledwell on-stage before he travels to Halifax. He will team up with fellow Island comedians for a one-night-only evening of stand-up and improv comedy titled “The Easter Funny.” It will be held on April 5, at The Guild. The show begins at 8:00 pm. For ticket and event information, call The Guild at 620-3333.
